Winifred Barbera

The Barbera grape is the most common variety in the Piedmont area of Italy. It has been grown in Australia for many years and we are one of 5 producers in this area. It ripens late, has a high level of natural acidity and produces a full-bodied wine with deep ruby colour.

Our Winifred Barbera, named after Wendy’s Mother, is a most pleasing addition to our range.

The wine has smoky and earthy undertones of sour cherry on the nose and a mild oak influence is revealed. The palate shows substantial fruit weight distinctive to this unique varietal and overall the wine has good body and healthy tannins with a powerful lingering finish.
