Spring

This is the season at Catherine Vale when the vines come to life again and the cycle of growth begins. We see the buds become woolly, then burst into green, and shoots soon appear. A clean, even bud burst is the optimum and a preventative spray will ensure any mites or disease spores which have over wintered in the vines will be contained. The fruit is already in evidence and growth of the shoots is rapid. Flowering soon occurs and further preventative and nutritional sprays are necessary at this time.
