Gabrielle Dolcetto 2010
This Piedmont variety is an early ripening, low-acid red grape variety. The wines are soft, round, fruity, and fragrant with flavours of liquorice and almonds and most are designed to be drunk in their first 3 years. The cuttings for our vines were purchased from Bests in Great Western from their vies planted in 1870.
Our Gabrielle Dolcetto is named in memory of Bill"s Mother Gabrielle Lawson. The wine has stunning colour being soft,round and fruity and fragrant with flavours of anise and almond. The is exceptionally food friendly. For variation in summer try it chilled as a luncheon red.
This wine has gamey, raspberry scents and brings firm blueberry flavour to the front palate. Morello cherry, mocha coffee and licorice
fruit characters integrate with savoury oak on the middle palate and dusty tannins show at the finish.
